Acupuncture with Remedial Massage

After a review of the intake form and consultation, this treatment begins with massage using essential oils to invigorate your circulation and relax your nervous system focusing over a targeted area of your body based on your needs and reason for visit.

-Once areas of stagnation and deficiency have been identified therapies such as fire cupping (suction therapy), Gua Sha (scraping) or Moxibustion (herbal heat therapy) will be applied if indicated. Click here to learn more about these therapies.

-Acupuncture needles are then inserted into selected points on the body and left in-situ for 20-35 minutes depending on duration of session, with infrared heat lamp to reinforce circulation to the target area.

Facial Rejuvenation Journey (Cosmetic acupuncture)

Begin by receiving a relaxing acupressure massage on the upper back, neck and shoulders using essential oils to release any deep tension and correct imbalances in the tissues to restore Qi and blood flow to the head and face.

Cupping may also be applied to back and shoulders if indicated to release tension.

Acupuncture needles are then inserted into selected points on the body, face and scalp to support complexion and correct imbalances.

In this treatment specialised facial needles are used which are shorter and finer than those used on the body and there is a strong emphasis on needling the face with up to 30-40 needles in the face alone.

The needles are left in-situ for 20 minutes for them to work their magic.

This treatment is finished with a neck, scalp and face massage using a nourishing facial oil to release tension and encourage lymphatic drainage with facial cupping and Gua Sha.

Initial consult/treatment-

Standard Acupuncture session

If you are attending for support for labour preparation in pregnancy or maintenance of a chronic health issue/injury and you don’t wish to have massage included in your session then this is for you.

After reviewing your intake form and a short consult, acupuncture needles are inserted into selected points on the body. These sessions often involve points being needled on the back of the body then after they are removed you will be turn over and further points are selected on the front of the body. There are lots of options for positioning you in a way that will make your treatment comfortable if you need to lie on your side or be treated in a chair sitting up this can be accommodated.

Cupping, Gua Sha and Moxibustion may be included if indicated.

Paediatric acupuncture ( 5-12 years old)

In these sessions time and care is taken to explain things a way the child will understand and feels safe and comfortable to receive while there parent or guardian is present.

Our initial session together is to build some report and explain the different types of tools that I might use (massage, cupping, acupuncture and gua Sha ).

Once we have decided TOGETHER what we will do in the session the treatment will usually involve some gentle techniques to stimulate different meridian pathways and acupuncture points on the body including massage, gua Sha and cupping (small silicone cups if under 13yrs)

IF the child has indicated they are happy to have acupuncture then small needles will be inserted into 1 to 4 points. Depending on there age of the child the needles may not need to be retained and only inserted and removed quickly.

Initial Paediatric acupuncture consult and treatment 45 mins $110

Follow up- 25 mins $85

Chinese herbal medicine

Herbal medicine can be prescribed to you for a range of health concerns in conjunction with any type of acupuncture treatment and in most cases can be prepared for you to take home with you on the day.

Just make sure to mention you're interested in herbs at the start of the session so they can be discussed and planned for.

Herbal medicine cost varies $22- $65 depending on the form ( powder, pills) and amount prescribed.
